Man, we gave up cable about six months ago and now get fuzzy local channels. I feel like I'm back in the era of HR PuffNStuff... It was a budget thing since both J and I are working and Goobs and the Bun are in daycare. But...it has freed me from the shakles of the evil tube. I hardly watch anything on TV anymore. The kids don't seem to miss it. We can still get a fuzzy-grainy Curious George and Clifford on the local public station.
I do recall seeing something on Sid and Marty Kroft-back when we did have cable. The Krofts were the creators of both PuffnStuff and Sigmund. There were some real counterculture allusions with our buddy HR. The name alone suggested "happy smoke." You also had a boy with a magic flute, a witch that sort of reminded me of Janis Joplin. She rode what looked like a chopped harley broom and she hung out with two lackeys name Orson and Seymour. In retrospect, I was getting a little saturday morning pscychedlic experience as a kid.
I'm wondering what this says about me that I remember so much about that show.
todd - thanks for leaving a relevant link.
samokdaddy - you know what it says about you that you remember so much about that show?
it means you like greek food. ;)
If I hear or see "There's a party in my tummy" one more time, I'm going to scream!
Yo Gabba Gabba looks like it's going to tank.
